Undead overview
Fore more detail follow here: maelstromgame.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=detailed&action=display&thread=7
Zombie: A dead body given a soul. Dies when the body fully rots, releasing the soul.
Reapers: Living beings that devour souls. Bodies begin to become transformed after five souls were their eyes go white, while ten or more souls they become deformed and mutated, with the more monstrous appearance the more souls they contain. The original Soul of a Reaper can be devoured, and Reapers often suffer from multiple identities speaking from one body. Dies when the body is killed or too many souls are devoured and the body bursts.
Clocks: Mortals who escaped death. Dies when Lich catches them, their bodies are destroyed/killed or they burn out.
Undeath: Mutation that causes an unnaturally long life and cannot be reborn as the soul will die the instant the body does. Undeath’s are obsessed with death and dying from the moment they become aware such a thing exists as they are unnatural and not meant to exist. Though most Undeaths are suicidal, a rarer case happens where they believe only they should live can happen.
All forms of Undeads can become Reapers minus Zombies. A Zombie’s body will rot at a faster rate should more souls be added. This is due to the main soul being displaced and no longer ruling the body. This lack of ruling makes the body unstable to contain more souls.
Undeads have no culture as they are not a true Race and can be any breed. No soul may remember the entirety of its past life as the details are seared out of existence to remove risk of the world becoming full of unstable beings. Should identities carry over no one would be able to keep track of who was who and new souls would be out of place and hunted. Only Death and Life can recall memories of a past life in other creatures as they exist as the gates to beginning and end, thus experience all a soul does.
All resurrections create undeads. A soul can only be revived up to fifty years after their death, though souls may be reborn sooner. The result of using a living body to ignore the result of a zombie will result in a Reaper, though they may choose to no longer devour any new souls. The Reaper result may have the revived soul devoured. Only Life may create a new body that will not result in an Undead. This is again to keep souls recycled and the world in order.
