Impressive tubular design building.
Brearley Architects and Urbanists (BAU) and Grant Amon Architects (GAA) recently completed Australia's first purpose-built LGBTQI+ centre. The tubular design building is conceived as a series of interconnected tubes wrapped in a concrete exterior and also incorporates important sustainability features, including solar energy.

The Victorian Pride Center (VPC) is located in St. Kilda, Melbourne. Its design is the result of an architectural competition that was launched after the Australian parliament passed a bill to legalize same-sex marriage in and subsequent government funding became available. Measuring , square meters and arranged in an L-shape, the building's stacked tubular design creates mul C Level Executive List tiple terrace areas facing the street.
“A series of conceptual tubes emerge as an abstract armature that maximizes the urban envelope, provides relevant and meaningful architectural forms and spaces, and generates overall order,” BAU said. “More importantly, these conceptual tubes are taken into account by extracting details from the summary; The more the tubes interrupt the internal program, the more forms and spaces of coexistence emerge. These emerging and surprising results encompass difference, diversity and inclusion. It is the result of a constant evolution, of a work in progress, it embodies the continuous struggle towards equity, freedom and camaraderie.
The interior of the tubular design building is equally striking and is arranged around a central atrium that has a grand staircase with integrated amphitheater-style seating for visitors. Elsewhere, it houses a public work centre, health and wellbeing centres, a bookstore, a theatre, archives, a roof terrace and a community garden.

Although this new concrete building is not actually designed to be an environmentally friendly power plant, it has energy efficient features that reduce its use of the grid. Its generous glazing, including skylights, reduces lighting requirements and a rainwater harvesting system holds , liters of water used for flushing toilets and irrigation. Its interior design leaves the structural elements visible both for aesthetics and to reduce the use of materials. Local vegetation species are planted to mitigate irrigation needs, solar panels reduce grid consumption, and a heat recovery ventilation system is installed.

Through this technology, Space Perspective's engineering team was able to create the optimal shape of the capsule before manufacturing. After thousands of simulations, they discovered that a rounded capsule provides the smoothest and safest ride for passengers.
